Human-Centered Design

Human-centered design helps us shift our thinking from technology-centered design to designing for and with humans. While technology is cool, innovative, and certainly brandable, at the end of the day, technology should always be understood as a tool that helps us achieve human-centered outcomes. Technology serves as a means to a human-centered end.

One such human-centered end that is important to me is putting America to work so people can take care of themselves and their families. There are numerous technology sectors we can leverage to achieve this goal. However, technology sectors ebb and flow. What needs to remain constant is a dedication to putting America to work so people can provide for themselves and their families. We need to center human outcomes and engage collective imagination and creativity. Technology can and should be a part of this vision. But let us remember—every minute, every day—our human-centered goals.
