I was thinking about mindfulness—about what it means to mess up daily in my practice of loving kindness and find the wisdom to begin again. And then I started thinking about how this applies to technology.
The tech industry loves its mantras. “Move fast and break things” has been the rallying cry for disruption, innovation, and rapid scale. But this philosophy has negative consequences.
I’ve been thinking about a different approach—a three-part recipe that works whether you’re shipping code, building habits, or simply trying to be a better human.
A Three-Part Recipe
Intention → Acceptance → Recommitment
- Intention: Moving with purpose, not just speed
- Acceptance: Owning our impact when things inevitably go wrong
- Recommitment: Finding the wisdom to do better next time
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about building a sustainable practice that acknowledges our humanity while still moving us forward.
